Moosefuel Media is Exiting the Wedding and Event Business

Dear clients,

It is with a heavy heart that I’m announcing today that I’m leaving the wedding videography (and bar mitzvah) business for the foreseeable future, because of health reasons.

Thank you for putting your trust in me over the years to make your wedding videos. I have had the best clients, without a single bridezilla and with only having to chase a few people to get paid (If you know who you are and you’re reading this, give me a call!).

Why:

A few weeks ago, the day after a wedding reception, I noticed that I had some hearing loss in my left ear. Over the next week, my hearing didn’t come back, and my doctor let me know that it will probably never return.

I always wear ear protection. I’ve had tinnitus since I saw Alexisonfire in Regina, Saskatchewan over a decade ago, and since then have taken precautions to always wear earplugs and protect my ears. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough. Lower wavelengths still penetrate these defences and have led to further loss of hearing.

I have to stop shooting weddings to protect my ears.

I have decided not to take any more wedding or event contracts that involve receptions for 2019 and for the foreseeable future, but I will honour existing contracts. Don’t be surprised if you see me wearing ridiculous headgear at your event.

2018 was the most successful year ever for my wedding business, and I feel sad and depressed to be abandoning it, but at the same time I know that it is the correct choice for my health. Someone else will make beautiful wedding videos, while I focus on quiet things like documentary and corporate films (get a 20% discount on my documentary at newtfilm.com with code “eggfreckles”).

And of course I have lots of wedding edits to finish.

I’m immensely proud of (most) of the work I’ve done, and I’ll continue to find other avenues to keep the creative fire burning.

Warmest regards,
Noah
